Welcome to this Forum

The Idea for this forum of course came from an avid Form Master User, and of course I think this is a great Idea.

I have only allowed Users in the Customer role to post. If you are an owner and do not have access please PM me and send me some identifying information like Order #, approximate purchase date, email used to purchase, full name etc.

Attachments have been allowed so screen shots, and Exported Forms can be uploaded with your post.

When uploading Exported Forms, please be sure to remove any personally identifiable information, and any Database connection strings in the Form or Field Queries.

Don't forget if you use any CSS rules in your forms to post those as well.

Also be sure to put the Exported file in an Archive as the .XML extension is not supported as an attachment type.

Note: The Exported forms can cross Version Numbers both ways so no need to worry on compatibility if you want to share your forms.

To import the forms:
1. Place an instance of Form Master on any page.
2. Place the "content.FormMaster.NNNNNN.xml file in your portal root.
3. Open Admin > File Manager and Syncronize Files so the XML file will show in the Import Dropdown
4. Use the Import option on the Module Action menu to import the Form in step 2

Thanks to Penny for this Idea

Steve

Form Linking

This post will help you to understand how to link forms and save the data to external tables which are linked by a Foreign Key Constraint.

This would not be like a wizard where users can go back and forth, it is only one way, but allows for cutting large forms into smaller units, not to mention keeping the tables from getting really wide.

So the Steps to recreate would be.

Create the Sample Tables

Import Each form and Map them to the Tables Created in step1

For the first two forms set the redirect to the next form in the chain

Submit the forms

Run the Result Query In DNN the layout would be that the only form in the Chain which would be available for direct access by the user would be form one. As to the email at this point we could get really fancy in the last form and have a bunch of hidden fields and do a Field Query to get all the collected data up to that point and populate the hidden fields with the previous data. These extra hidden fields of course would have to be ignored by the Data Manager and not saved in the final table but only sent in the email. This and other reasons is why this is not a published feature yet as this setup is too difficult for the average user, but of course many of our users are accomplished developers themselves.

This form shows the use of Auto Fill By Membership, the use of Field [TOKENS], and the use of the Custom Template for the Email.

As screen Shot is inclulded to show the email.

Salesforce® Case Creation Form

I should be the first to post a form.

This form I helped a customer put together which uses the Silent Post and Hidden Fields features of Form Master to Create Cases in Salesforce®.

You will have to supply the "Silent Post Url" as Form Master does not Export that information. Also the "OrgID" needs to be replaced with your own along with the "ReturnURL" ( this really does not matter since the user sees nothing and nobody is returned to a URL with a Silent Post).

Also the emails have been changed to protect the innocent.

Even if you do not use Salesforce®, this form will show you how to use the Silent Post feature.

Steve
