SMTP is working fine on my DNN site, but when users access the form I built with form master I get the following error:  "The message could not be sent to the SMTP server.  The transport error code was 0x80040217.  The server response was not available."

I get similar errors...

"The transport failed to connect to the server."

I was using godaddy smtp for about 8 months and all was working fine, upgraded to DNN 4.4.1 and started receiving errors.

I am going to install the lastest version today, but I was receiving errors with Form Master v1.5.2.

All other DNN SMTP functionality is working. I need a solution to this problem ASAP and a quick response would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks again,

SPECS:

DNN Version: 4.4.1
FormsMaster v1.5.2

You are right... the version of the module I orignially purchased is "for DNN3".

Snowcovered.com Order Details...

Form Master 1.5 For DNN 3 1 $39.95 $39.95 Shipped 7/1/2006 9:13:07 PM Details
Form Master 1.5 For DNN 3 Source 1 $39.98 $39.98 Shipped 7/1/2006 9:12:07 PM Details

Can I received the DNN4 version? Can we work something out in terms of re-licensing?
Thanks for you help/time as I didn't expect a response until tomorrow considering it's Sunday... we love this module and we would very much like to continue using Code 5 Systems as our Forms Provider.

Please let me know how we can resolve this issue ASAP, thanks again,

First off you said you host at GoDaddy:

I have two other customers who have been having problems with email today, both on GoDaddy also. One changed the from email address in Form Master to the same one which is used when testing the SMTP settings in Host Settings, and all worked. I assume GoDaddy has made a change to their SMTP server security or they are having problems authenticating SMTP requests. You might want to open a ticket and ask if there has been changes, and if not ask them to help you debug the issue.

If you find out anything I would appreciate knowing.

Secondly:
If you login to Snowcovered as the same user who purchased the DNN3 Versions you will get the DNN4 Version for half price. You don't need to first get the PA as the Source Version comes with the PA.

Glad you like the module, and be sure the let me know if you still have problem.

Hello Steve,

Okay, I have purchased ver1.5.5 for DNN 4.x.x, installed the module overtop of the previous version, and now I get the error... "Failure sending mail"....

I have tested my SMTP settings and the email sent, I have requested a password change and received it... what am I doing wrong?

Did you check with GoDaddy? Did you try the suggestion to use the same address as in the Host Settings SMTP page for the From Address?

If can get edit access to the module I may be able to heilp send to steve at this domain.
