Hi

I have form master 1.5.1 and DNN 441 and I'm having a problem creating a form similar to this one -

If you are not logged in then both Resume and Cover Letter "Browse.." buttons are disabled.

I want to allow anonymous users to be able to submit a form and be able to upload two documents in a form.

I found that when I'm logged into the code5systems site the Cover Letter Browse button becomes enabled but not the Resume one!! How does this work?

Not sure what other settings I need to change or whether I need to upgrade to 1.5.5?

Thanks

Darren

I have the Resume control disabled in the control edit page. The only reason I did this users could not upload files because the required status of the Cover Letter cannot be satisfied.

It would be a good idea to upgrade to 1.5.5. It should be available in Patches & Hotfixes on Snowcovered.

Thanks for your swift reply Steve.

I've upgraded to 1.5.4 - this was the lastest version in Patches & Hotfixes in Snowcovered. Not sure what happened to 1.5.5 on there ?

When I'm logged into the dotnetnuke portal as my superuser the "browse.." file upload button is enabled on my two file uploads browse buttons and an email is sent ok.

However when I am not logged in, the "browse.." buttons are disabled - My main question is how do non registered dotnetnuke members upload files? (I do not use the register functionality on my site) - is this possible and what do I need to do to get this to work?

(As an side issue - I've also noticed that the file link in the sent email is sending me to a page on my site with a url of "/DesktopModules/Code5Systems_FormMaster/Render.aspx?FileDataId=1" but this gives me a big "Access Denied" message even though I'm logged in as a superuser!?)

Thanks

Darren

1. If you don't see 1.5.5 you are probably using Form Master for DNN3. The final Version for this product is 1.5.4 unless there is a bug found.

2. Check "Allow Anonymous Uploads" in "Other Settings"

3. Uncheck "Authenticate File Downloads" in "Other Settings"

HTH

Thanks for that.

1 Initially we did purchase DNN for DNN3 - but are now using DNN4 - How do we get the 1.5.5 version? Do we have to purchase this version on snowcovered ?

2 "Allow Anonymous Uploads" in "Other Settings" - I guess this setting was what I was missing - thanks for this.

3 Authenticate File Downloads - I want only authenticated users to be able to view files but I think I found the problem. I was logged in using Firefox but the url took me to the default browser - IE which was not logged in so that is why I was getting the "Access denied" error. Doh!

A few other points

4 In the email that provides the link back to the file on the server I'm getting a problem since in the email it links back with something like this
http://[DEV SERVER URL]/DesktopModules/Code5Systems_FormMaster/Render.aspx?FileDataId=1

where [DEV SERVER URL] is incorrect and should be [LIVE SERVER URL] since the l[LIVE SERVER URL] was where the form was completed. Looking at the database C5LLC_FormFileData table it stores only the PortalID so I'm guessing FormMaster just gets the first portalAlias record for this portal which is where the problem occurs - the first on the list of portal aliases might contain an item which does not currently work since it is a redundant domain or that of a test server which does not work in the live website. My temporary work around was to delete the portal aliases which were not working.

5 Is is possible to have an option to get the files attached to the email too?

1. 50% off for FM for DNN3 users
2. NP
3. And you will be automatcally logged out after a specific time
4. This has been an issue which I have tried several solutions for the issue is Child Portals when trying to determine the URL. Maybe is it Mental block for me :-)
5. Will be in next release

Cool - Will get our ordering person on it!

No pressure but any idea when the next release will be since our person administering the emails from our site forwards on these emails to various people and we don't want to give all these recipients login access since the documents are fairly confidential. They are also not keen on having to download and attach the documents themselves to the email every time before they send them on!? :)
