Hi,

When do you plan to implement the feature of attaching a file to the autoresponder email?
I know that it can be attached when a file is uploaded.. but my scenario is a bit different ( I actually purchased this module because I thought it could do what I needed .)
My Scenario is :
1.) Customers type in their email and company in the form.
2.) They are now offered a download of one of our products.
3.) Send a thank you for downloading email with a 30 day license file attached.

Would it / is it possible to get this feature soon. I see many people asking for the same functionality for various reasons.

Best regards
Poul

I already have some requests for changes, and a couple of minor fixes for 1.6.0.

This could be implemented using the same redirect to file method used now but adding attach to Auto Responder.

The rule would be if Attached to Auto Responder, do not make it available on the Thank You page.

Would you agree with this rule?

Within 2 weeks.

Hi,

Thank you for a quick response, and sorry for double submit - I lost internet connection during the post and must have submitted twice on that account.

I dont agree completely.

You see, I want to make the software available for download on the thank you page, since there is nothing special to the software it can be downloaded at any time. At the same time I want to attach a license file to the autoresponder email and that license file I do not want to make available for download since we generate a license file every morning located at the same place on the server. If people save the link to that file they could actually just download a fresh license file every 30 days without us knowing about it.

I hope you see the point.

Therefor I need a specific option to attach to autoresponder, but at the same time offer some other file for download.

Thanks
/Poul

I understand the Use Case now.

That still would not be a difficult coding issue. Question is the file would need to be available in the /Portals/NNN folder and discoverable.

For security reasons it may be possible to store the file in the Database as that is now available in DNN.

Sounds good, where the file is located is not such a big matter as long as its not directly public downloadable.

At the moment I coded a hook in C# to the sqlserver that registers changes to the form master tables and then shoots of a mail with the license file. However its not very pretty - so the sooner you can have this feature in form master the better.

There is quite a few posts on the DNN forum from people looking for stuff like this :-) So I am looking forward to telling them that there might be help on the way.

Thanks again.

Anyway as a followup I just released 1.6.1 and it is available in Customner Downloads (let me know if you can't get to it) or on Snowcovered Patches and Hotfixes

Small world :-)

I just installed the update and I do see the text saying "Auto Responder File Attachment" , but thats all. I dont have a inputbox or browse button to define what what file I want attached to the email.

There is a standard DotNetNuke File control under the Label you found

Link Type:

Choose the File (A File On Your Site) option

Hi,

That option just defines what file I want to offer to the customer after submit of the form - not what file should be attached to the autoresponder email.
If you want I can mail you a screenshot.

No you are mistaken. The file to be offered on the thank you page is under the label "Redirection After Submit"

Hi Steve,

I think we are on the same place. I wish I could attach a screendump to this thread to show you. But truely the file control is missing/not showing - I do however see the label that belongs to it. But below is nothing but empty space.
